Apple rumored to bring smaller, cheaper iPhone, but do they need to?

Spring is coming early per one little rodent so what is spring without some tech rumors? One major rumor is about Apple possibly bringing the well rumored iPhone Nano (possible code name) to carriers at a low unsubsidized price of $200, that means off contract for that don't know. There is a lot of talk and people are all willing to voice their desire for this or distaste for this, but do they need to bring this out?

Being an avid Android user and a fan of Apple products (not to be confused with a fanboy), I feel they need to now more than ever! It is more important now due to the growth of Android world wide, also since Microsoft and Nokia have joined forces. Some might just say, their Apple they don't need to do anything, but I would say that's false. The reasoning I believe they need to is do to some of the strengths of both Android and Nokia phones. They produce many popular low end phones, known as feature phones (dumbphones) and Apple simply has the iPhone.

Now don't get me wrong, the iPhone is great in it's own right but if they wish to expand worldwide they will need to expand their line up. It's nice that they lower the price of their older phones but is this enough, only time will tell. Leave comments and I will do a follow up of your comments. Also hit the link for more information
